Released in 1995 exclusively for SNES, Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures was designed to be the Indy equivalent of LucasArts' highly successful Super Star Wars series. Clearly they either didn't think Indy was capable of carrying off three separate adventures like Star Wars or they just thought the 16-bit era was nearly over.
While not in any way a bad game, it is a very very difficult game yet almost "kiddy-Indy" in its storytelling. The writing in the cutscenes is atrocious (see Screenshots below), and some moments are just plain silly, such as the bosses. Donovan's skeleton coming to life and attacking Indy? Mola Ram chucking hot Sankara stones at you (how many are there?!)? Belloq commanding ghosts from the Ark?
The game was developed by Factor 5, who would go on to create the Rogue Squadron series.
